Cerveceria Kuntsmann

So last week we decided it would be fun to go check out one of the local breweries.  We hopped on the micro(the local buses) and in only about 10 minutes we were there.  Kuntsmann is one of the better local beers, so I was excited to go see where its made and sample all the different varieties.  The food was great and obviously the beer was good too.  We also were introduced to the "columna" for the first time, which is basically a pitcher, but better.
After our meal, which included probably the biggest sandwich I've ever eaten, our waiter offered to give us a tour of the brewery, to which we happily obliged.  He showed us all the different stages of production from fermentation to bottling and packaging.  It's all done right here in Valdivia behind the restaurant.  After showing us the brewery we entered the beer museum where there were somewhat creepy mannequins demonstrating the beer making process.  All in all, it was pretty awesome and I'm definitely going to be going back there for some more columnas, churrascos(sandwiches), and papas fritas!
